“ We have been regular customers of this restaurant for several years. The quality / authenticity is very good. Not quite as good as our favorite restaurant of this type in Daegu ROK, it does come very close. ”
“ New management with new recipes and menu. I think it’s the best 중국집 in Annandale right now. Portion size is also generous. ”
“ The taste was excellent with a truly traditional flavor. I’ll definitely be back! ”
“ Stopped by to try some authentic Korean BBQ and was not disappointed. Had the Kal Bi beef ribs.....exceptional the Kimchi was like I was back in Korea when I was in the USAF... outstanding. Can't wait to go back and try the Bulgogi. Very clean inside. Nice atmosphere and very friendly. If you are looking for a nice place to eat lunch or dinner give them a try. ”
“ They have Jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce). I’ve been eating more Korean food this past year, maybe because I’ve been watching a lot more Korean shows on Netflix, but I haven’t found a place with Jjajangmyeon until now. Place is underground and looks rundown but has an authentic feel to it. They way I see it, if the decor is questionable or feels old, but place is busy and has decent reviews, then the food must be good. I’ve gone back a bunch since. In the picture you can get two different “entrees” in a single bowl, but they also have Jjajangmyeon on its own. Making Jjajangmyeon is a lot of work IMO and while I like my version better, this place is definitely worth. The serving sizes are huge. Would highly recommend trying once. ”
“ Something about this place being in the basement of a nondescript office building in Annandale makes it seem more authentic! You go down one flight of stairs and into a bright and cheerful restaurant. Our server was lovely, and prompt and the menu is great. Of all the items you can get, most are also available in a double or triple combo. It's still a ton of food, but at least it's 2 or 3 different items. The servings we saw at other tables were massive!!! My friend and I wanted to try 5 different things on the menu so we got 2 triple combos. We got the black noodles, the seafood soup, the fried rice, the fried pork, and fried dumplings. ALL were good, several were GREAT! I found the black noodles (Jjajangmyeon) were good but a little bland in my opinion. The fried rice was very good with a slightly smokey flavor and perfect rice! The dumplings were great, as was the seafood soup (Jjamppong)! The broth was spicy, but also loaded with flavor and there was tons of great seafood in it including clams, mussels, octopus and shrimp. The fried pork was also delicious, sitting crisp in a sweet and sour sauce. Finally, the banchan was really nice! pickled radish and some of the best kimchi I have ever had. We asked for more! I know that Kimchi is very subjective, and one man's fav is another man's "meh", but I loved this! We were there for a late lunch on a saturday afternoon and the crowd was large and lively. We will definitely be back! ”
“ My new favorite location for casual Korean Chinese food Located in the basement of the building, Joongmi has delicious popular platters of Korean noodle and rice dishes. Even eating solo, you can experience a lot of different flavors with the double or triple combinations. I highly recommend the tangsuyuk (sweet fried pork) and the jajangmyeon (black bean noodles)! The wait staff even gave us some soup from the jjampong (seafood stew) to complement the fried rice. The prices were very value at roughly 20 for a triple combo, which is potentially more expensive at other locations. I will be back again in the near future to try other combinations and other dishes on the menu ”
“ Very authentic Korean style Chinese food. You should try Ganjjajang rather than regular jjajang. ”
